# Malachi > Open source reimplementation of LinkedIn's NorthGuard, written in Elixir on Erlang/OTP 28, MIT licensed. Clients speak topics, keys and opaque cursors; ranges split and merge underneath; a write is acknowledged once a majority of copies have fsynced it. Malachi is in active development and not production-ready. The quickstart below runs plaintext on localhost only; configure TLS before serving real traffic. ``` # Set your own admin password (12 characters or more) in the shell first: # export MALACHI_ADMIN_PASS='your own password' docker run \ -p 127.0.0.1:4040:4040 \ -p 127.0.0.1:4041:4041 \ -e MALACHI_ADMIN_PASS \ -e MALACHI_REQUIRE_TLS=false \ hectorcardoso/malachi:latest ``` Malachi listens on 4040 and the dashboard on 4041. ## Docs - [Repository](https://github.com/malachi-hq/malachi): source, README, MIT license - [Docs](https://github.com/malachi-hq/malachi/tree/main/docs) - [Architecture](https://github.com/malachi-hq/malachi/blob/main/docs/ARCHITECTURE.md): ranges, segments, replication, Raft control plane - [Benchmarks](https://github.com/malachi-hq/malachi/blob/main/benchmark/README.md): how they are measured ## Optional - [Releases](https://github.com/malachi-hq/malachi/releases) - [Docker Hub](https://hub.docker.com/r/hectorcardoso/malachi)
